"Artists come from all walks of life. They do not belong to any segment of society exclusively. "

I read about people some times and the more I do the more I realize maybe we should all start with "Hi I'm nobody. Who are you?" in the famous words of Emily Dickinson I believe. I've been lucky enough to get to do a lot of wonderful things because of the great opportunities and kindness I've been shown by good people who have held me and my art in their hearts and arms. For this I am blessed. I wish the whole world could feel like I do when I paint. I am an artist, I like to laugh during my day. I like to share and I pretty much hate when I see people hurting one another even if it's under the guise of friendship or the old "constructive criticism' clause. I think when someone is competitive it shows insecurity. I think that the fountain of art and creativity is endless if you are willing to look beyond what you think you see. I think art has many mediums. I think that we are all 'going to be dead for a long time' a quote from the infamous Joe Bowman. I think that we don't really look when we should. I think sometimes the people that love us the most hurt us the most I think that when we do stop and look we are amazed. I think that honesty is a virtue -- true honesty from the heart. I think that people can use one another like designer clothing changing relationships like clothing and that is dangerous. I think I don't want a friend that uses me. I think that my dog Big Al is the BEST DOG IN THE WORLD. I think that my art can and will change the world. Think we should not be thanked for what we should be doing. I think to stop the cycle of time and hug an experience would help keep all the cries of humanity together. I think that we all need to wake up with pain in our hearts and begin to heal from what we have been taught to hate. I think that selfishness is a kind of hate. I think that beauty does not mean you are better than someone else or that you have the right to judge others less than I think that poetry is art I think that we should be more concerned with loving one another than judging and hurting each other I think that if you plan a sequence of events to make something happen you've already missed the point I think that who I choose to love is my own dam business I think that relegating a person to a number and credit score is sick I think money makes people hurt one another I think reality TV is the equivalent of Romans and Christians and I worry we are all becoming Romans who enjoy watching the destruction & mutilation far too much I think a country where a corporation or a guy can financially ruin the lives of many and just get house arrest in his 'Penthouse' is stupid and does not care about the poor or the victim I think art can bring people together. I think and so should you I think it easy to overlook kindness, humility and giving for the sake of giving I think it should not be so I think who I am and what I've done will not and are not the credentials & reference points you should use to put me in a box In fact you should not even attempt to put me in a tidy box with a ribbon on it I think we spend far too much time thinking about who and what suits us best I think we are selfish with our love and we should not be

I think we will never know when the word 'agent' became a bad word

just like we will never know why many people today ignore those they have judged
useless, less than & not deserving or their time without even knowing them

I think too much lately LOVE & PEACE - Olan

A note from Olan about donating...

"I strongly believe that we all make a difference when we give. I will give until I have nothing. In fact I probably respect that person that gives when they have nothing to give the most!  I am saying this because I do many charity events - producing art from my own pocket to help them in their causes. I've had to begin to ask that the production costs of the work be covered when I do a donation these days and I am not happy about that.  Everyone that buys my art knows that I support non-for profit organizations like Ward-Nasse Gallery as well providing them with my art at affordable prices so their wonderful work can continue. I want to share this art with the world and I want it to help make our world a better place. That is why I donate my time, art and dedication and that is why I am not not going to be shy about asking my supporters to aid me in my mission.

So I am writing this note on my website, just in case that one person who can afford to give happens by.  I want to continue to give to charities like The Ali Forney Center and many others as I have been, but I need some altruistic help here - that's what the paypal button is for...
If you have a charity you want me to creat for also feel free to contact me or my agent Stacy Vogel.
